The sights of HCMC

Had a great day today visited Notre Dame, the French have ctainly left their mark on this city – the architecture of many building is very French. It’s very interesting listening to a local recall the history of the “American” war, the French colonization, the Portuguese developing the Vietnamese language! The visit to the unification palace was an interesting time – interesting to hear how the Americans nominated who would be president and then after a bomb was dropped on the palace he became a bit concerned and fled to the US via Tiawan!

We have spent time by the pool relaxing, knowing that there is so much more to see but know that we are a little more restricted than usual! Tonight will be relaxed as the rain falls and the world rushes by, it’s good to stop sometimes! Off to the Jade Buddha tomorrow and then see what else the day brings before we pak our bags and head off to Hanoi!

About revthreads

I originally decided to get a blog because I think any adventure, travel experience should be journaled and then thought it's good to share. Some things may be interesting to others and other things not so much but sharing is good! I love to travel, I don't get to do as much as I would like, ultimately it would be my dream to just pack up, head off and keep going for as long as possible seeing and experiencing new things, meeting new and interesting people. Like a lot of people I have family and work commitments that keep me grounded, but I am fortunate enough to have a fair few opportunities to head out and live life to the full.
