Isle of Man, we’re at the TT’s

After our sad goodbyes and drive to Liverpool it was hop on a short flight to the Isle of Man to see our great friends the Egan’s and witness the TT races. The isle itself is very picturesque so quaint and pretty. Have to admit that it was bloody cold when we arrived but it didn’t prevent us getting out and about to see what was going on.

As for the TT’s I have never seen so many motorbikes from all over the place in one spot, it’s amazing, we were driving from the airport on Mad Sunday and just watching bikes fanging past and on the evening we went over the mountain and again the bikes were fantastic, just watching them go past! We had dinner at a great place in Douglas before walking along to see the bike displays.

Today we have a couple of races to watch but there has already been a delay because of an accident. I suppose the downside to the TT is that we arrived to hear that already 3 people had died during the practice week, but in spite of the danger of riding this course people are out in force to ride around and watch the races – its a pretty amazing experience and to top it off we get to experience it with our friends of many years!

About revthreads

I originally decided to get a blog because I think any adventure, travel experience should be journaled and then thought it's good to share. Some things may be interesting to others and other things not so much but sharing is good! I love to travel, I don't get to do as much as I would like, ultimately it would be my dream to just pack up, head off and keep going for as long as possible seeing and experiencing new things, meeting new and interesting people. Like a lot of people I have family and work commitments that keep me grounded, but I am fortunate enough to have a fair few opportunities to head out and live life to the full.
