Well we left brisbane with the hope of the weather getting better, alas it did not but it would not deter us. The hope is, and still is, a dive at Wolf Rock off Rainbow Beach. We took the highway as far as Noosa before turning off to take the beach road the rest of the way, we purchased our permit then it was onto the beach. There is nothing quite like that drive down the beach, the ocean lapping at one side and the slipping sand at the other, meanwhile the clouds drift across the sky as we travel through the scattered rain!
We eventually stopped at the end of the beach for a swim, a beer and a rest. It is always amazing to just sit on the beach and watch the ocean roaring and lapping at the sand, of course there was the attempt at dragging me across the sand to the ocean, after already being thrown in once, the second attempt failed!
The horse flies seem to be endemic, they are just everywhere trying to take chunks out of you but whilst hungry and thirsty they are slow so it didn’t happen! We spent some two hours just sitting on the beach, watching cars go by, watching people head onto the beach with their fishing gear – for us it was a case of just watching the world go by wondering what people did, how people lived! We spent time being thankful for where we are and what we have!
Once at the apartment it was a case of settling down for the night, our hope is we will get out for a drive tomorrow, hopefully wolf rock, if not hopefully there will be something else around, otherwise it will be a case of making our own adventures, which I am sure we will manage.
