Last night in the UK

So after the kerfuffle of Easy Jet we landed in Luton and was picked up by Ed, half of the lovely couple we met in Borneo and who visited us just over a year ago. Carole and Ed had kindly offered us a bed for the night, but the first thing we was really thankful for was a home made sandwich, yes, I know it might sound petty, but the fact that Ed made us a sandwich in a home kitchen made it taste so fantastic, we have not had homemade anything for weeks.

Once Carole was home it was off to the local for a couple of drinks before a home cooked dinner. We had a relaxing time, albeit short and again so good to catch up with beautiful people. Their hometown of Borehamwood is very pretty, so close to London yet so much green on their doorstep. It was a quick visit of catching up with laughter in the ingredients, before we had to pack up our packs for the last time of this adventure and head to Heathrow for the amazingly long journey home to Brisbane, and with such a long transit time in Singapore, that’s exactly what it was an amazingly long journey home!

About revthreads

I originally decided to get a blog because I think any adventure, travel experience should be journaled and then thought it's good to share. Some things may be interesting to others and other things not so much but sharing is good! I love to travel, I don't get to do as much as I would like, ultimately it would be my dream to just pack up, head off and keep going for as long as possible seeing and experiencing new things, meeting new and interesting people. Like a lot of people I have family and work commitments that keep me grounded, but I am fortunate enough to have a fair few opportunities to head out and live life to the full.
